THE HOLY EUCHARIST
Many
times, in my life, I have inquired to understand those whom this Most Holy Gift
of the Father is meant for. Is it for the saints, those who are perfectly pure, or for struggling sinners like me? I pose this because from my personal
experience, God knows I'm speaking the truth, many times have I restrained from
receiving Jesus because of my failures to live up to the standard of the
Saints; I see myself perfectly unworthy because of my weaknesses and sins.
However,
I observed that the more and more I withdraw from receiving Holy Communion, the
more spiritually, physically and psychologically weak I become, especially in
resisting sin. I will be like, "There's no need to resist it. I have
already fallen" without realizing that the more I submit to that sin the
more susceptible I become so that even when I succeed in going for Confessions,
I will easily succumb to that same particular sin again and again, all because
I am already used to it.
I will feel more discouraged to go for Confession again for that same
sin because I conclude within me that God will never forgive me. And sadly presume
that the priest of God may start judging and viewing me somehow for confessing
the same sins again and again. So, what happens? I will keep delaying from
receiving Jesus. And neither courageous to go for Confessions. And so, the struggle continues. More
and more sins; less resistance...
Dearly
Beloved Friends, truly I say to you, do not wait until you become a Saint before
you receive Jesus (though not in mortal sin). He gave this His Most Precious
Body and Blood for us sinners whom He came purposely to save. It is because He understands our weakness that He made provision for the sacrament of Reconciliation so
that we can always rise when we fall; so that we can always have our souls purified; hence, worthy to partake of His most precious Body and Blood, the Food that keeps and sustains our Souls even more
than as earthly food does for our body. What a love!!
Whenever
you fall, Dear, please do not delay in going for Confession; don't
procrastinate it so as to be worthy to receive Jesus. This is because the Holy
Communion augments(strengthens) our union with Christ; it separates us from
sin; by the same charity that it en-kindles in us, the Eucharist preserves us
from future mortal sins; it wipes away our venial sins; it unites us with the
Mystical Body of Christ- Mother Church; it commits us to the poor; it
strengthens our love for God and our neighbors; it sanctifies us making us
worthy for eternal life. Uproot then, whatever in your life that prevents you
from receiving Jesus.
The
Holy Eucharist is not only for the Saints but for struggling Sinners like me,
like you. hence, let us never be discouraged from going for Confession always. God is never tired of forgiving us! he is never tired of pardoning you. And,
no priest of God has the right to judge you. Even if he should judge, his judgment will never stop you from receiving the Mercy of God which
you seek for! By the way, one can always meet another priest for Confession...
If you are a Sinner like me, let us join hands and thank Jesus for the wonders of His Love He has shown by giving us His Body and Blood, the Food of the Angels! By his grace, mercy and love, we hope to assemble with all the angels and saints to partake in the eternal banquet He has prepared for us in heaven where He lives and reigns with the Father and Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever, Amen.
Happy Corpus Christi Sunday ❣️
Peace and Love🌻
